wireless baby!

It is very nice to not have to deal with that oxygen.  I can pick Annie up and take her any where now!  We have been busy every day this past week, and she is starting to smile more.  I have 6 more weeks off, but I know it will go by SO fast because the first 6 have flown by!   I will bug Greg to get more pics up soon.

Up and about!

Well, I finally feel A LOT better, so Annie and I have made many trips out of the house during the day.  Of course, some are easier to do, and others are not so much fun.  We did go to the mall one day, but spent close to 2 hours in Macy’s because she had to feed, needed two diaper changes, and really the only thing I went in there for was a pair of jeans…however we did manage to get in and out of other stores much more quickly.  She gained a pound at her last doctor’s appt, and the doctor managed to stay standing the entire visit!  She is beginning to stay awake more the day, and it is so much fun to play with her and interact with her.  I told Greg I was ready for another baby, but he said I would have to find a different father and that I could wait.  She is just such a good baby and a beautiful blessing to Greg and I.  I am still bugging Greg to get more pictures up on the web site or tell me how to do it–so hopefully that will happen soon!  Love reading everyone’s comments!

A note from a tired mommy…

Well, Annie is still on oxygen, but she did a lot better the last time they came out to check her.  We go back to the doctor on Tuesday–hopefully an uneventful trip–and we can find out how much she has grown, because she has grown a lot!  Nights are on and off-one night it wasn’t Annie that kept us up, but us keeping Annie up.  Greg and I both put on diapers in our tiredness that were anything but effective that night–so she was changed twice that night as well as the changing table…no sheets that night.  Early this morning though she started doing this thing where she pushes herself around her bed on her back, which makes her diaper fall off, so we had to change sheets, clothes, and blankets this morning because of that.  We ended up getting her a co-sleeper for our bed so she isn’t in her BIG crib any more except for naps during the day, so that has helped us get more sleep.  OK-she is CRYING now, and daddy is still sleeping, better go take care of her!

quick note

Annie is doing very well, we had a great night last night, so that was a hopeful sign for both Greg and I. The grandmas have been helping out TONS! They tested Annie on room air today, but we still need oxygen, we didn’t last even a minute before we started dropping oxygen saturation. We have stayed home the last two days, given our first day was so adventurous (given we swept the doctor off his feet), but we are probably going out tomorrow, so we will see if we have any stories to tell tomorrow. We appreciate all the prayers for restful sleep, quick healing for mom, and for Annie to not be on oxygen.

Our interesting day out…

Today Annie was able to go and see her pediatrician for the first time in his office.  We did get a chance to meet him in the hospital, but this was her first official doctor appt.  We arrived at our scheduled time, and Grandma Glover came with as daddy was able to find a new job and it started today.  We went into the office, talked with the nurse, etc. and then finally Dr. Lubbert came into the office.  I handed him some paperwork, and he handed it back to me and said, “I am going to step out for a minute I am feeling dizzy”.  Well, Grandma was holding Annie and I was sitting when the doctor tried to leave, but didn’t make it very far, and started to pass  out.  My mom quickly called for me to grab Annie and get help while she helped the doctor to the ground.  I grabbed Annie and her oxygen tank and stood in the hall and said we needed help…no one even looked up, so I said, Dr. Lubbert has passed out, we need help, well then the whole place is buzzing! Luckily he didn’t hit his head when he passed out.  Grandma stayed to help while Annie and I sat at the nurses station and waited for about 45 minutes and then we were seen by another doctor.  I like to think he passed out because Annie is sooo cute…

Annie’s sleeping finally

She finally went to sleep!  We took turns getting up and holding her, and Dana finally took over completely at 5:30.  She slept for 3 hours in Dana’s arms.  Hopefully she sleeps tonight since I start a new job in the morning!

Annie’s Home!

Annie got to come home with us today.  There is no sign of infection like they thought, but she is still on oxygen, but it shouldn’t be for long.  She is a little fussy tonight though when I tried to put her to bed.  She just wanted to be held and when I put her down she cried (found out it was actually a dirty diaper…) LOL  I just had to stop writing this and hold her for 2 minutes.  Let’s see how long she stays down this time.  She’s home though and that’s all that mattters.
